Trust the process

The seeds of hope take time to manifest. Planted in darkness, seeds must undergo a metamorphosis before reaching the surface. And this isn’t the final stage of growth. You must continue nurturing them for them to reach maturity. Storms will come. Droughts will occur. Pests will attempt to consume your harvest. So, you must remain diligent in your effort to protect your investment. You must remain focused on ensuring your seeds develop strong roots. Not everyone will want to see you succeed, and there will be numerous distractions, but don’t be concerned with this. Aware, but not concerned. Keep pushing forward with persistence & determination. It’s just a matter of time before it all comes to fruition.

Growth isn’t linear. It’s full of highs & lows, peaks & valleys, and wins & losses. It’s unpredictable, as is life, and each day brings a different challenge. The key is to accept transformational ambiguity as the norm and keep pushing forward despite the uncertainty. Clarity is rarely gained while going through the struggle. It’s when you look back at your journey when you see how & why things needed to go the way they did to get you where you wanted to be. This is when you’ll realize it was all part of the process.

If you focus on the process of continuous improvement the wins will come in due time. You may not be where you want to be, but you’re further along than when you started. You may be taking baby steps now, but it’s just a matter of time before you’re running full speed. Always keep in mind the lessons are in the journey. There will always be new destinations. It’s the lessons learned that enable you to accomplish each endeavor with a little less effort. You’re no longer starting from scratch; you’re starting from experience. Every endeavor will have its own process, and you must learn to be patient as you maneuver through each step. It won’t always be easy, but if it’s something you truly desire, it will be worth it.

Caterpillars don’t morph into butterflies overnight. Transformation takes time. There are no shortcuts. It can be lonely and uncomfortable, but don’t give up. You must be patient. Both with yourself, and with others. Not everyone will understand, or support, your need for growth. And that’s okay. It’s not for everyone to understand. You’re doing this for you, and the time you spend in your cocoon will be invaluable. Give your wings time to develop. Build up your strength. Then soar to the next level.
